The National Wax Museum Plus is an exciting visitor attraction with a lot to offer. Ireland’s first wax museum was set up by the famous Madame Tussaud in 1804 which is the inspiration for The National Wax Museum Plus. It’s had a few homes in Dublin before settling on Westmoreland Street right beside O’Connell Bridge.
The museum is full of characters and exhibits, from historical figures, great Irish writers, musical and acting icons and celebrities to cartoon characters, and everything else in between. Have your phone ready to take a picture of your favourite character – Harry Potter, Jedward, Pierce Brosnan, Dracula, Father Ted, James Joyce
As indicated by the PLUS in the name, it’s not only wax figures either. The museum has much more to explore and experience, such as the Science and Discovery Zone and The Time Vaults. It’s great fun for all.
The Museum also offers the “Wax Hands”, a chance for you to immortalise your own hands in wax and even turn it into a funky lamp. Children must be 5 years and older to participate.
