Pulp is a British band formed in Sheffield in 1978, fronted by Jarvis Cocker. They became famous in the 1990s as part of the Britpop movement, alongside bands like Blur and Oasis. Their music blends indie rock, pop, and disco influences, with witty, observational lyrics often focusing on British life, class, and romance.
Some of their biggest hits include: "Common People" – A satirical anthem about class tourism, "Disco 2000" – A nostalgic, danceable track about childhood crushes, "Babies" – A song about teenage curiosity and relationships and "This Is Hardcore" – A darker, cinematic take on fame and excess
Pulp went on hiatus in the early 2000s but reunited for tours in the 2010s and again in 2023.
