Victor’s Way is an open-air arts park containing the most beautiful and fascinating Indian inspired sculptures covering over 22 acres of open fields. It was designed as a space to be used by individuals between the ages of 28 to 60,  who feel the need to assess the quality and direction of their lives. It’s a sort of mid-life crisis, self-reassessment place of pilgrimage.

At present the park contains 33 black granite stone sculptures ranging in size from 5ft to about 15ft and ranging in weight from 2 tonnes to 10 tonnes. There are also three major bronze sculptures on show, the most famous one being the 14ft Fasting Buddha. The main sculptures are placed in the Enchanted Forest to which entry is gained  via a 20 ton, black granite ‘birth canal’, and which opens upon a set of 9 monolithic stone Ganeshas.

 It takes about an hour to wonder around this fascinating place and it is suggested that you wear suitable clothing for those rainy days so as not ruin the magnificent experience. At the end of the walk there’s a photo exhibition that shows how the sculptures were crafted in India. There’s also an Indian Crafts Shop. What little profit it makes helps defray some of the expenses of keeping the Sculpture Park open and supports a number of small Indian crafts makers.

 Though specifically designed for individuals over the age or 28, visitors of all ages, to wit, parents with children (under guidance), can simply enjoy these strange sculptural installations and the serene ambience of the forest walk as they would any ‘tourist attraction’ on their holidays.
