Since 1957 Dublin Theatre Festival has been a fixture on the city’s calendar, the annual Dublin Theatre Festival is one of Europe’s premier theatre events and enjoyed by everyone worldwide. The invariably huge attendances at the festival events are drawn not only from the city’s citizens but the many international visitors who attend annually.
Expecting over 350 performances from many countries in some 20 or more venues – and a broad one, encompassing everything from theatre, music, dance and family events to artist talks, public discussions and artist development programmes.
The festival makes a point of bringing the best available theatre from around the world to Dublin and balancing the international programme with Irish productions, especially new plays.
